Mind surfing at the beach

I have an active, impish three year old and a husband who is not very interactive who works swing and stays up on a game called EVE until the early morning hours. My family and friends are far away and my husband and MIL are always telling me the dangers of outside childcare and even babysitting.

So my time to destress has to involve my little one. So I pop him in his stroller and walk over to the beach and take a nice walk on the boardwalk right above the ocean. I live on Padre Island, in TX , we just moved here from the desert, so we are close to the beach. This is very rewarding because he is so enthralled with the sights that I can think a few thoughts on my own, or even zone out and daydream. It keeps all the hair intact on my head and my nail beds from being torn and chewed off!

How this housewife with no time to herself finds escape while still doing her 24/7 job. Boy don't I envy my husband his lunch breaks and the ability to go potty on his own without a little one screaming outside the door!
